Two Face

Posted by Kristy

Yesterday was a great day for me, or at least the majority of the day was great...why was it great you ask? Because I am DONE WITH SCHOOL!! That's right, as far as I know I am done and look forward to receiving my degree in Geography: Travel and Tourism. My plan is sometime early June to head over to Seattle, now I just need a job and a place to stay...but I figure those things aren't too important. jk, I'm constantly job searching. If anyone has any hotel connections in Seattle, that would be sweet.

Anyways, so to celebrate my achievement my friend Drew invited me to go long boarding with him. By this point you're probably all shaking your heads and thinking, "Kristy, how did you think this was a good idea? Or, Kristy will you ever learn?" Most of you will just read "long boarding" and then will just skip down to check out my injury pictures, because you know it's impossible for me to do any type of activity involving wheels without seriously hurting myself. Sadly, you're right.

Okay so back to my story, so Drew proceeds to teach me for a few minutes the basics of long boarding. I actually caught on quick b/c it's just like snowboarding, and I can do that. So we decide to try out the hill, and everything was going well. I was told that I was a "natural", right up until I tried stopping myself. Drew warned me of a sharp turn ahead and that scared me so I tried to jump off not knowing how fast I was really going. Most other people at this point would then write about how they scraped up their hands and knees b/c they lost their balance, but that's a bit too cliche for my taste. I decided instead to dive face-first into the pavement, and made sure to land on the top of my arms as well, as well as scraping up my chest. I still really don't know how it happened, I'm guessing I tripped as I tried jumping/running off, but somehow I managed it.
In approximately 10 minutes of long boarding I went from this....

To this....................
My friend kept telling me not to laugh b/c I look much less hardcore.

Starting to see how I could be the new Harvey Dent? Oh, it gets better.
And here is a picture I took this morning, yes my friends you can just call me Two Face.

Here's hoping we take a lot of family pictures this weekend!

  3. Oh snap! Serious, Once I read, "I went Long boarding" I was like oooh no! Yeah, back in the day I was rolling down 900 East and I ate it pretty good. Haven't had much of a desire to long board since.

  9. K so here is my story. I swore I commented a couple weeks ago to you about having connections to princess maybe in Seattle or wherever. So Kacey talked to me about it yesterday and I all complained that I offered my help and you didn't want it. Then today she tells me that you said I never commented. So then I figured I must have read your post about graduating and mentally told myself to comment offering my services and then you switched to your wreck therefore throwing my train of thought off. So the moral of the story is when telling two stories make two separate posts!! HAHAHA! I sent a couple of emails off for you I will let you know what I hear! Email me at samanthaross05@gmail.com you have any questions for me.

  10. Oh my goodness Kristy...be careful! Although, those long-boards can play crazy tricks on you. One time, while you were gone, I was bragging to Melissa about how good I was on my long-board and sure enough I go outside to show her and the board goes out from under me and I land flat on my back! P.S. I know you told me about your new hair-do a long time ago but it is super cute :)
