Cupcake Contest

Posted by Kristy

Nothing fuels my inner domestic goddess more than a cooking contest. I just love them. This last weekend we had a stake luau party with pulled pork, roasted pig AND a cupcake contest. I was in heaven. At first I was dead set and wanted to make these because they are adorable and look just like the Serta sheep.

Alas, I had to say no because this was a Hawaiian party but I'm thinking next St. Patrick's Day I might try these guys out. Anyways, after a few searches on the internet and some helpful ideas from Trevor's visiting family I came up with these babies...

Are these amazing or what? Those of you that know me know that I don't like to "sing my own praises" but these are pretty darn impressive and they're super easy to make! The sand is sacrificed Teddy Grahams, the towel is a fruit-by-the-foot and that's pretty much it. Trevor helped out by making the delicious cream cheese blue frosting to go on top of these moist chocolate cupcakes. I got the recipe from my friend Janie and they really are amazing. Here is the CUPCAKE LINK.

Well, I know you're all dying to know if I won right?? Of course I won, like there was any doubt! Here is a picture of my winnings.
It also came with some coconut but I would have preferred a punch to the face so I gave it to a friend.

As for the rest of our goings on: Trevor gets his tonsils out next week (he's had throat problems for years) and this weekend we head to Pullman to cheer Kendall on at State. Go Kendall!

  1. Of course you won! You always win, but I guess that is because you are just plain amazing. You inspire me (seriously). Maybe I'll go actually make cupcakes for the first time in my life (not so seriously).

  2. I think from this day forward all teddy grahams should come wearing bikinis. I love them.

Wish I could have been there to win your coconut from you...

  3. Those cupcakes are awesome and I would also rather get punched in the face than eat coconut.
