The other day I got a call from a friend in ward and they had an odd favor to ask of me. They wanted Trevor and I to show up at Bellsquare Mall in disguises and hang out for an hour. The activity was that the mutual kids would walk around the mall and look for the costumed ward members. They knew that there would be 7 of us but they were not told who it was going to be. They had to come up to us and ask us for our autographs, and the group that got the most signatures wins. Trevor and I simply said, "challenge accepted" and came up with these disguises.

Can you tell it's me?

I used Trevor's sweater and jeans and borrowed a hat from my friend Jordan. I colored in my eyebrows and tried to de-feminize my face by blotting my chin with eyeshadow. It was a hurried effort but still manage to  fool quite a few youth.
Trevor and I

This is the the whole group (minus the guy in the blue, he didn't participate). My favorite was the old lady disguise, she borrowed a walker from her work and sat by an old man and everything. It was awesome. The disguises worked pretty well. The youth would come up and first pass by me, but then when they would take a closer look she could always tell it was me. It was pretty fun though, the best part was when we were done we all met up and a few of the leaders kept starring at me wondering who I was. They were impressed.

I'll end with these lines from a Simpsons episode about disguises, kind of.

Bart: Oh it isn't fair. I'm ten times the Krusty fan you are. I even have the Krusty home pregnancy test!

Lisa: I'm not sure if I should go. I don't even like him.

Bart: You're right, Lis, you shouldn't go. It wouldn't be honest. I'll go, disguised as you.

Lisa: What if he wants to hold hands?

Bart: I'm prepared to make that sacrifice.

Lisa: What if he wants a kiss?

Bart: I'm prepared to make that sacrifice.

Lisa: What if he...?

Bart: You don't want to know how far I'll go.

  1. Your picture came up before the words and I just had an incredibly good chuckle about that picture. Weirdest mutual ever but I am stoked that this picture exists. You make an interesting boy... so hoping a sex change isn't EVER in the cards.

  2. I love this with all my heart. Great costume!

  3. Ha! You look like a teenage boy! Love it. My ward in Bountiful did a similar thing at Gateway and I happened to be hanging out at Gateway the same night but was not part of their activity. We were all very confused. :)

  4. hahaha you are prettiest prepubescent boy I've ever seen. like way hotter than one direction.
